Q: How can a wedding planner help me?

A: • I can create an ideal wedding that’s customized to your style and needs without the stress of planning such a lavish affair yourself! • I save my brides hundreds of hours of planning and research leaving you with more time to be with the one you love!
• I can help you to select your venue, colour scheme, invitations, food, flowers, vendors, entertainment and more from a roster of trusted vendors that fit your budget
• I help you stay within your budget and find the best value for your money. I also carry forward Exclusive Vendor discounts to you! My fee is included in your budget and will therefore not be an added cost!
• I create a wedding planning schedule to know which tasks need to be done and when, I handle all items within this schedule and ask for as little work to be completed by my couples as possible.
• I am an expert on wedding etiquette, so whenever you have a question about what is “right” I will have the answer!
• I prepare a detailed wedding day schedule for each of the members of your wedding party as well as vendors and family and ensure that we keep to it!
• I also act as your personal assistant on the day of, dealing with any problems that pop up, and ensuring that you have a stress free wedding day!
• I can organize the rehearsal and ensure that everyone is well prepared for your big day.
• I handle all setup for the wedding which would otherwise be burdened to family members who also deserve to enjoy your big day!
• I clean up the venue and ensure that returns and deliveries are made and no extra charges are added on.

Q: I have found that with other wedding planners in the Rockies my wedding must be planned within a set amount of hours. How many hours do brides get to plan their wedding with Sweet Occasions?

A: Sweet Occasions also does NOT limit the hours spent planning your wedding. I provide unlimited pre wedding planning and consultations because I believe that you deserve the attention you need throughout the planning of your big day and during the wedding it’s self.

Q: How many weddings does Sweet Occasions book each season?

A: Sweet occasions only books a limited amount of weddings each season to ensure that the brides get the individual attention they need.

Q: Do vendors from the Rocky Mountains give you discounts?

A: Yes, many vendors, venues and activity providers offer me Exclusive Discounts to bring them business. These discounts are carried through to you and your guests, to help stretch your budget as far as it can go!

Q: A lot of guests that are from out of town, do you know how they can get here and where they can stay?

A: I certainly do! I offer Unique Guest Concierge services to all wedding guests to create a simple process for guests to attend your wedding. I book flights, accommodations and activities and handle the scheduling for these guests, so their wedding experience is simple, stress free and enjoyable.

Q: Do the guests also get your Exclusive Discounts?

A: Yes the guests do get all of my Exclusive discounts with vendors, venues, and activities to make their trip more cost effective.

Q: How much experience do you have?

A: I have been in the event planning industry since 2002, beginning my career with organizing large corporate events, media launches and celebrations. I have executed countless weddings & events over my career and have found that my true passion is for the intimate and detailed planning of a wedding. My reward is being able to work with couples who care about their wedding and seeing their smiles and tears of joy when I bring their fairytale to life!

Q: I don’t have the total budget of my wedding available right now, can I still book with you?

A: Yes you can still book your wedding with me. I work with couple to create individualized payment plans. There is a small initial booking fee that must be paid upfront to reserve the day but the balance of the wedding budget can be split between several payments. Q: How can I pay for my wedding?

A: I accept Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, Money Transfers, Bank Drafts, Cheques and much more.

Q: What are the Alberta Marriage License Requirements?

A: Alberta Marriage License Requirements:
A Marriage License shows that you meet the requirements to get married in Alberta. This license gives you the legal right to get married any time within three months from the date issued. To obtain a marriage license in the province of Alberta, you must meet the following requirements:
  • You must be at least 18 years old. If you are younger than 18, you will need legal consent from your parents.
  • You must show acceptable identification such as a birth certificate, passport, treaty status card, Canadian citizenship card or driver's license.
  • You cannot be related to the person you wish to marry by whole blood, half blood or adoption.
  • You must currently be unmarried.
  • If you are divorced, you must present proof the divorce is final such as a Certificate of Divorce or a Decree Absolute.
  • You must have your wedding in Alberta, however you do not have to be an Alberta resident to get married in Alberta.
  • You must be free of the influence of drugs and alcohol when you apply for a Marriage License, as well as,
  • Both parties to the marriage must apply together for their marriage license.
Additional requirements for special circumstances:
  • Both parties to the marriage must speak English. If they do not, it is their responsibility to provide an interpreter who is over 18 years old and is fluent in both English and the language requiring translation. If the registry agent issuing the Marriage License is fluent in the other language, then that registry agent may proceed as the interpreter for issuing the Marriage Licence. The couple applying for a license cannot translate for one another.
  • If either party is deaf, a sign language interpreter may be required.
  • If either party is mentally challenged and a trustee or guardian has been appointed, proof that their trustee or guardian has been informed of the upcoming marriage is required.
  • Blood tests are not required in Alberta.

Q: How do we get to Banff?

A: If taking a plane, fly into Calgary International Airport. In car head South on HWY 2/Deerfoot Trail, merge onto 16 Ave NE/HWY-1 W, continue to Canmore, Banff, then Lake Louise.

Travel time from Calgary to Canmore or Banff is about 1 hour 15 min and Lake Louise is about 2 hours from the airport. For transportation arrangement and suggestions please contact us.

Q: Can we modify your packages?

A: Most defiantly! The packages are there as a guideline to help you budget and to inspire you. You may upgrade your packages and tailor them to your desire. Our objective is to accommodate and fulfill each of your wishes and create your fantasy wedding. This means that you have full control over your wedding. Larger packages are also available upon request.

Q: Will you be at our wedding?

A: I will certainly be there on your wedding day. From delivering you breakfast in the morning until the last guest has left, Sweet Occasions is there. I believe that this is important because you may need help at anytime during your big day for both you and your guests.

Q: Can we get married outdoors?

A: Yes, you can get married outside everywhere in the Rockies. An outdoor ceremony is truly one of the most spectacular places to say "I do"! All of our packages include the option of getting married outdoors, weather permitting. Please ask us about our outdoor locations, they are breathtaking!
