Fantasy Chateau Lake Louise Wedding

A movie night out with friends while attending high school begins Mike and Megan’s love story, for that night marked a milestone in each of their lives which brought them together forever. After high school, post secondary schooling, and 6 years Mike planned a trip to Niagara Falls. Romance was in the air when Mike requested a falls view table at the Revolving Mini CN Tower with a bottle of Champagne. Megan thought that the bottle of Champagne was celebrating that they were both legal drinking age in Canada, but this was only until Mike got down on one knee and proposed! Megan said “Yes!” just as the impeccably timed fireworks over the falls lit up the night sky in celebration!

Shortly after Mike & Megan’s trip to Niagara Falls, Bonnye Megan’s mother took a trip to Lake Louise to begin the planning of the wedding her little girl had dreamed of since their first trip to the beautiful lake. Upon meeting with Angela Schrempf, Executive Wedding Planner with Sweet Occasions Bridal Consulting, Bonnye requested only 3 things from Angela.

1. The wedding would take place in the Sun Room at the Chateau Lake Louise and the couple would like to exit in a horse & carriage.

2. The colors would be Turquoise – Megan’s favourite color, and Orange – Mike favourite color.

3. And this day had to be absolutely magical and perfect!

Armed with these requests Angela’s creativity exploded into a beautiful, blissful day for the couple! The Ceremony in the Sun Room at the Chateau Lake Louise was remarked by staff as the most beautiful wedding ever to take place in the Sun Room in the history of the hotel. With dazzling orange tiger lilies, and hundreds of thousands of Turquoise rose petals lining the ivory aisle, tea lights in frosted votives added the perfect sparkle to finish off the room.

The Sun Room then underwent a dramatic transformation into the Reception room for the celebration of their marriage. Orange and Turquoise lighting against the premier of the room created a magical elegance paired with beautiful LCD lit tall centerpieces. The centerpieces were the most remarkable creation, filled with cracked ice glowing with light overflowing with tiger lilies, bears grass and cascading dendrobium orchid atop each guest table. A sweetheart table for Mike and Megan shone with chocolate organza table cloths and chocolate silk chair covers accented with orange solidago finished the tables perfectly. Gold chargers created the perfect base for cream napkins all of which were surrounded with glowing frosted votives. In the center of the room as a tribute to Mike & Megan`s nick name `M&M` a rotating gobo in the shape of an M&M candy lit the dance floor which paired perfectly with their custom M&M favours for each guest.

Both the ceremony and the reception were remarkably beautiful; however, there were several events during the day that set this wedding apart from any other wedding taking place at the Chateau Lake Louise. The most unique event that took place was Mike & Megan`s grand entrance to the reception. With fog, strobe lights and some great entrance music this grand entrance was modeled after the couple’s favourite sports team and was a very unique and bold grand entrance. Mike & Megan`s exit from their ceremony was also quite unique, with a waterfall of sparklers lighting the path to their horse drawn carriage their exit was fit for royalty! After the ceremony a pre reception in the Red Room at the Chateau Lake Louise with live music, sparkling punch, beautiful decor and an amazing view of Lake Louise and the Victoria Glacier kept the guests content while all the magic was being put together in the Sun Room. When you put it all together, this wedding was a stunning display of love and creativity!

Mike and Megan are now happily married living together in Florida with their pets and family!
