Yokko & Bruce's
Chateau Lake Louise Wedding

Ahappy accident brought Yokko & Bruce together in the hospital where they met, although both of them were perfectly healthy at the time. Both MD`s, Yokko & Bruce met during their residency at the same hospital and became inseparable. After 4 years of enjoying each other’s company in the Big Apple, Bruce bought a ring. The night of the proposal, Yokko & Bruce went out for a very nice dinner at one of the big-name restaurants in Boston. Bruce kept putting on Chap Stick to hide the fact that he was checking to see that the ring was still in his pocket all throughout the dinner. Afterward, the couple was walking around the Bunker Hill Monument and Bruce kept stopping and getting down on his knee to rub his sore ankle that he had sprained the day before. On the third time down on his knee, he pulled the ring out of his pocket and proposed. Bruce found it amusing that after trying to find the right spot to propose to Yokko, he ended up proposing at the end of the “Freedom Trail” in Boston.

During Christmas Holidays Yokko contacted Sweet Occasions Bridal Consulting to assist in the planning of their wedding in Lake Louise, Alberta from their home in New York City. Together Yokko & Angela worked to create a truly unique version of a Cherry Blossom theme. As the cherry blossoms have been done many times Angela faced a great challenge to create something unique for Yokko and Bruce, however, no creative challenge is too great for Sweet Occasions!

Yokko & Bruce`s wedding day began with a bang... a giant thunderstorm that is, and plans for an outdoor ceremony were dispelled. Luckily, the ceremony in the Lefroy room at the Chateau Lake Louise was just as beautiful as an outdoor ceremony would have been, with a beautiful view of the lake, stunning cherry blossom trees, an ivory carpet and white satin chair covers accented with dusty pink sashes, Yokko & Bruce were thrilled with the indoor results!

As the rain subsided the Lefroy transformed into a Zen reception area decorated with a new take on the cherry blossom theme. A rock garden symbolizing water interwove itself on the table carrying single blossoms down its stream which evolved into curly willow cherry blossom trees. Slate & blossoms decorated the guest book table which also took a new form of a poster of Lake Louise signed by all guests to capture memories that will last a life time. Yokko & Bruce`s wedding cake also made a bold blossom statement, with lovely thin branches and hundreds of blossoms, the cake was outstandingly beautiful surrounded with river rocks and single blossoms.

Luckily the evening of Yokko & Bruce’s wedding day cleared up and the couple was able to host a champagne toast at sunset on the Victoria Terrace. With the sun a beautiful red setting in the sky just above the glacier and their family surrounding them there couldn’t have been a better end to the perfect wedding day!

Yokko and Bruce continue to enjoy each other’s company in New York with the memory of their Lovely Lake Louise wedding.
